Saturday the 14th of July was hot in Whistler, but the magic was COOL! That’s what everyone thought at the 2010 Olympics Information centre in Whistler, BC.

Comedy Magician Matthew Johnson was invited by the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic Games to get their festivities started.

Many turned out to bask in the sun and be entertained and entertained they were as the North Vancouver based Magician went through his award winning show!

On Friday the 20th of July at 11:00pm Matthew Johnson can be found at the Chapters Bookstore, 2991 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam, presenting his award winning magic show to mark the release of “The Deathly Hallows”, the 7th book in the Harry Potter series.

Matthew Johnson just returned from a 5 day trip to Buenos Aires in Argentina. Matthew was chosen to play the role of a street magician in a US national TV commercial for Nationwide Insurance.

Auditions for a magician were held in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Mexico & Argentina. Matthew beat out all other magicians to land the coveted principal role.

Wasabi films of Argentina & America Film Works of Miami flew Matthew to Buenos Aires for a 5 day, 17 hour film shoot that involved making a car vanish in downtown Buenos Aires.

This weekend was a great time to be in Whistler as I was invited to perform my Comedy Magic show for 2 days at the annual Whistler Children’s Festival. It was hot but the heat did not stop many of my past clients from making the 2 hour trip from Vancouver to Whistler, the future home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Between drinking tons of water and trying to stay in the shade I performed interactive Magic, Juggling, Comedy & Balloon Twisting. The groups I entertained were fantastic and considering the heat did well to sit through each of my 30 minute shows.

I also got to see my good friend Zany Zack perform his kids musical set…..he was fantastic!

I would like to extend my big thanks to Traci, Kassia and everyone else on staff at the Whistler Arts Council for putting on such a wonderful event, Cheers Guys!

Saturday July 7th was another very hot sunny day here in Vancouver and a great day to be performing magic outdoors. I was booked as one of the feature entertainers for the Vancouver School Board as they celebrated their 100th birthday!

VSB put on a great event full of fun, food & sun. I had the pleasure of performing magic and twisting balloons for the family crowd.

I would like to say a big thanks to Lara and her team for inviting me to entertain on such a special occasion.

I just returned from my 4th year with the Surrey Canada day celebrations and it was a great success.
Thanks again to the whole team for making my wife and I welcome and for all your hard work!

This year all the performers had an even better stage to work on and a fantastic family crowd to perform for. I am also happy to say that it was a real pleasure to perform an extra magic show for Waste Management this years main corporate sponsor.
